Ozeino may be known for its range of budget-friendly gaming peripherals, but they’re rapidly becoming a contender in the headset market, too. Much like how many of their accessories offer class-leading feature sets at attainable prices, their headsets continue this trend, offering affordable yet high performant gaming headsets and, as we are reviewing here, the Ozeino gaming headset.
Table of Contents
The Ozeino Gaming Headset is an affordable 7.1 surround sound headset that is compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch and mobile devices using the 3.5mm audio jack. Lightweight, comfortable and with an audio-tune customised for gaming, the Ozeino headset has surprised me in all the right ways.
There are a couple of areas where I think Ozeino could make improvements, but considering the price and that this is one of their main gaming headsets, I think Ozeino has made a fantastic headset.

Design and build
I love some of the detail that has gone into the Ozeino headset. Anyone familiar with Ozeino products will recognise the camo design, but the way it has been integrated here is very tasteful. The RGB lighting on the ear cups automatically cycles through colours, adding a gaming atmosphere without being overly bright, making it ideal for gaming in a dim room.

The ear cups are made of hardened plastic with a soft matte finish. This is purely cosmetic, however, as the Ozeino is a closed-back headset. The ear cups are chunky without being oversized, and they are very well assembled, with no creaking components when flexed.
The earpads are stuffed with plenty of soft foam and coated with supple leatherette. It’s very comfortable, but it can make your ears quite warm compared to fabric coverings. I found the sizing to be ample to completely cover my ears and wearing the headset correctly created a very effective acoustic seal, which is important for both sound quality and passive noise reduction.
Ozeino has judged the clamping force perfectly; some headsets can squeeze across your temples or below your ears but these sit perfectly for my taste. The Ozeino headset is also well suited to glasses-wearers, as the ear pads are soft enough that they won’t press on the arms and cause discomfort. It’s not quite on the same level as premium pads, as you do lose the seal slightly, but that’s a common thing glasses-wearers have to put up with, unfortunately.
Features and controls
All of the controls are located on the cable, and I found them very easy to locate and operate. I like how it only takes a simple adjustment to change volume levels; it’s a very minor quality of life improvement, but it’s one of those things that once you try it, you wonder why that isn’t the standard.

The Ozeino gaming headset features 7.1 surround sound using a 50mm magnetic neodymium driver to deliver immersive stereo audio during gaming sessions. It is effective for positional awareness in games, providing a sense of space that helps during competitive gaming.
The headset uses RGB lighting that automatically cycles, which cannot be customised but adds to the gaming feel during use.
Connectivity
The Ozeino gaming headset uses a 3.5mm audio cable, which allows it to connect to a wide range of devices including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PC, laptops and mobile phones. Users will appreciate the plug and play nature of the headset, which requires no additional drivers.

It is worth noting that for older Xbox One controllers, an additional Microsoft adapter (not included) is required for connection, which is a standard requirement for many wired headsets.

When using the headset on a PC, the included “1-to-2 3.5mm audio jack splitter cable” should be used, with the red plug for the microphone and the green plug for audio, ensuring the microphone functions correctly. This is important for users searching “ozeino headset mic not working” to check first.
Sound Quality
Much like my colleague Andy noted when he reviewed other budget gaming headsets, the Ozeino headset has a gaming-focused audio tuning. Rather than pushing heavy bass, it maintains a mostly neutral profile with a clear emphasis on mids and highs, keeping audio bright and clear during gaming sessions.

The bass is present but not overpowering, allowing mids and treble to come through clearly. This tuning helps in competitive games where hearing footsteps and directional audio cues is important, without the low frequencies overpowering the details.
There can be a slight muddiness when multiple frequencies overlap during loud in-game moments, but compared to other headsets at this price point, performance is above average. Overall, Ozeino has found a balance that works well for gaming.
The 7.1 surround sound feature is software-based and offers a sense of directionality, providing better awareness in FPS games. It is not as detailed as higher-end headsets, but for the price, it adds value to the gaming experience.
Microphone quality
The microphone is what you would expect from a headset in this price range. Clarity is decent, but bass tones are subdued, so it is not a perfect representation of your voice. It uses an omnidirectional pickup pattern, making it easy to capture your voice even if the mic is not positioned perfectly, but it will pick up background noise like keyboard clicks.

The mic is rotatable and flexible, allowing you to position it as needed during games or calls. It stays in place well during use.
Comfort
The Ozeino headset uses soft protein leather ear pads that sit comfortably on the ears, creating a solid seal for passive noise isolation while remaining breathable enough for extended use. The adjustable headband allows the headset to fit a variety of head sizes comfortably.
I found it easy to wear the headset during long gaming sessions without discomfort, and the headset remained stable without pressing too hard on the sides of the head. It is suitable for gaming marathons, working from home or watching movies.
Summary
I’m impressed with what Ozeino has achieved, especially with this gaming headset at its price point. It has a clean look with RGB lighting, a comfortable fit, and a build quality that feels durable. The microphone could be improved, and the RGB lighting could have more customisation, but these are minor issues.

Overall, the Ozeino gaming headset offers a solid option for gamers looking for a budget-friendly headset with 7.1 surround sound, clear audio, and a comfortable design. If you need a reliable wired headset for gaming on PC, console or mobile devices, the Ozeino gaming headset is a great choice.
